Mendeteksi DDOS

Posted by: Ahmandonk In: How to?|Server Administration

Terkadang sering sekali server terkena DDOS, entah itu dari salah satu domain, maupun berbagai domain.

Bagaimana cara mendeteksinya?

Login di Server sebagai Root, dan jalankan perintah

netstat -ntu | awk ‘{print $5}’ | cut -d: -f1 | sort | uniq -c | sort -n

Screen is like a window manager for your console. It will allow you to keep multiple terminal sessions running and easily switch between them. It also protects you from disconnection, because the screen session doesn’t end when you get disconnected.

You’ll need to make sure that screen is installed on the server you are connecting to. If that server is Ubuntu or Debian, just use this command:

sudo apt-get install screen

Now you can start a new screen session by just typing screen at the command line. You’ll be shown some information about screen. Hit enter, and you’ll be at a normal prompt.

To disconnect (but leave the session running)

Hit Ctrl + A and then Ctrl + D in immediate succession. You will see the message [detached]

To reconnect to an already running session

screen -r

To reconnect to an existing session, or create a new one if none exists

screen -D -r

To create a new window inside of a running screen session

Hit Ctrl + A and then C in immediate succession. You will see a new prompt.

To switch from one screen window to another

Hit Ctrl + A and then Ctrl + A in immediate succession.

To list open screen windows

Hit Ctrl + A and then W in immediate succession

There’s lots of other commands, but those are the ones I use the most.

How to switch to us ?

Posted by: Ahmandonk In: How to?

If you have an active website and simply wish or need to change your hosting service, it is very easy to switch to us going through three easy steps:

CHOOSE A HOSTING PLAN
Review the page containing information about our web hosting plans and features. Once you select a plan and place your order you will receive by email detailed information about your account, including your Web Hosting Control Panel`s address, login, password and further details.

UPDATE YOUR DOMAIN NAME RECORDS
After completing your plan order, you will need to modify the NS records of your domain name. Go to your registrar`s website and set our NS settings for your domain name. If you do not have an account with your domain registrar, simply contact them and they will do it for you. You will find our NS settings in your Web Hosting Control Panel`s “Domain Manager” » “My Domains” » “Edit DNS” section.

After you have saved the new NS settings with your domain registrar, it will take approximately 24 hours for the change to come into effect. Once the domain resolving process has been completed, your domain name will start ‘pointing’ to our PLiKhost Hosting servers, and you will be able to use it to access your website with a web browser.

UPLOAD YOUR WEBSITE
You can upload your website and start working with it immediately after you have placed your order. You will be given a temporary URL, which you can use to access your website and work on it. We guarantee that all your scripts and databases will be running properly and there will be no downtime for your website until the NS update of your domain name has been completed.

If you experience any problems transferring your website, please let us know and we will assist you to the successful completion of the process.

WordPress 3.0.1

Posted by: Ahmandonk In: Update

After nearly 11 million downloads of WordPress 3.0 in just 42 days, we’re releasing WordPress 3.0.1. The requisite haiku:

Three dot oh dot one
Bug fixes to make you smile
Update your WordPress

This maintenance release addresses about 50 minor issues. The testing many of you contributed prior to the release of 3.0 helped make it one of the best and most stable releases we’ve had.

Download 3.0.1 or update automatically from the Dashboard > Updates menu in your site’s admin area.

Note: If you downloaded 3.0.1 in the first 20 minutes of release (before 2200 UTC), you’ll want to reinstall it, which you can do right from your Updates screen. Our bad.
